Child Support

Services:

Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Support Enforcement and Recovery: 800-371-3101

The Division of Support Enforcement and Recovery can assist with locating an absent parent, establishing paternity and child support, enforcing exist support orders and modifying support orders. If the parent who the child lives with receives TANF (welfare) for the child, the state will automatically collect child support.

If the parent with the child does not receive TANF, that parent can still request that DHHS collect child support for him/her. To Apply a parent should fill out this application (pdf) and submit it to:

Maine Department of Health and Human Services
Division of Support Enforcement and Recovery
(attn: Non-Welfare Coordinator)
11 SHS, 268 Whitten Rd.
Augusta, ME 04333
